After six terms in the United States Congress, John David "J.D." Hayworth
returns to his chosen profession of broadcasting, as the host of a
radio talk show at KFYI in Phoenix, which airs Monday through Friday from 4-7 pm,
local time.
But his portfolio includes more than talk radio. Citizens United has named
J.D. as its first "Ronald Reagan Fellow," mindful of his role in leading the
fight for border security and against illegal immigration, as well as his
success in cutting taxes as the first Arizonan to serve on the powerful
House Ways and Means Committee.
Hayworth also serves as President of The Great 48th Group, LLC. In demand as a public policy advocate, management consultant, and motivational speaker,
J.D.’s appeal extends far beyond his political support among Republicans and
Conservatives. He brings a thought provoking approach to problem solving and
an offers an irreverent, entertaining presentation style from the speaker’s podium.
"Dwight Eisenhower said, ‘Always take your job, but never yourself,
seriously.’ I try to follow that advice, especially in these trying times,"
Hayworth says.
"If I can entertain, inform, amuse, advocate, and at times, infuriate-that’
s when I know I’m being effective."
J.D. thinks that effectiveness will grow exponentially on the internet. He
has redesigned jdhayworth.com, converting it from what was once a campaign
website during his days in Congress.
"The redesigned website features a blog, and I intend to make it more than
just a computer clearinghouse for criticism and complaints-that’s the trap
that ensnares so many radio blogs and news blogs," Hayworth says.
"That’s why this website also includes an area called Arizona Solutions. One
lesson I learned during my twelve years in Congress came directly from
listening to constituents, who demonstrated in countless town hall meetings
that some of the best ideas for solving problems come straight from the
people. It is my hope that Arizona Solutions will be a
forum where citizens can share their ideas for improving this wonderful
place we call home."
